Peter C. Kurth
As President and Principal of The Peter C. Kurth Office of Architecture and Planning, PC, AIA, architect Peter C. Kurth has continually demonstrated his commitment to integrating his vision of architectural concept design with extraordinary sites. A graduate of the prestigious Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, Peter C. Kurth laid the foundation for his long and successful career during college, when he worked part-time as a draftsman and designer for several architects. After earning his Bachelor of Architecture in 1972, Peter C. Kurth went on to attend the Graduate School of Urban Design at the University of Pennsylvania, then headed by American architect Louis I. Kahn. Following his graduate studies, Peter C. Kurth served as Senior Designer and Project Architect for a noted Manhattan Architect.
In 1976, Peter C. Kurth joined The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and The Society of American Registered Architects (SARA), and opened his first office in Manhattan. In 1985, Peter C. Kurth moved his office to Mount Kisco, New York, where it remains today; in 2006, the firm relocated to a newer and more central office building near downtown Mount Kisco. Over the next two decades, Peter C. Kurth practiced with a number of partners, including Equity Properties, Custom Land Development Group, Bedford Associates, and D.C.I. Corp (Development Collaborative Inc.), frequently for developing specific projects. Peter C. Kurth has been a sole practitioner since 1995, when he established The Peter C. Kurth Office of Architecture and Planning and The Peter C. Kurth Design Studio, Inc.
Today, Peter C. Kurth creates designs for both residential and commercial projects, in addition to performing pro bono work on behalf of Habitat for Humanity. More information about Peter C. Kurth, his firm, and examples of his work are available at www.kurtharchitect.com.
